Us and our Western way of life. What makes us an expert on something? There is a book out that has some people convinced that it takes 20,000+ hours of practice over the span of years in order to be an expert in any particular field. There are TedTalks out that try to get people around that thinking to let us know that we do not have to be experts to be knowledgeable and productive in a field. We can be very good and still not be in the top 5% for our industry and that is great for a lifetime full of responsibilities and activities. We also have people who have little knowledge and/or practice but still feel as if they are experts in some respect- sometimes because they are well read on a subject. This brings me to the topic of this post.
I've read on tantra, experienced the energy of tantric masters, practiced, been initiated, raised my kundalini, and even provided some tantric healing. The main reason that I will not refer to myself as an expert is because I live a modern lifestyle full of doing and responsibility and eating Mexican food while I think of "real" tantrists as dedicating themselves to the work with much practice and focus and hours upon hours of experience strictly adhering to one system. I'm here to do some debunking for myself.
While not an expert I have learned enough to have a positive impact on some others who are seeking this path. I have done a great deal of self-reflection and experienced a ton of growth. I've incorporated things from a few different branches of energy healing, tantric healing, and intuition and fused it into something that I feel is of benefit to those I choose to share it with. I've decided to stop being skeptical of integrating different systems of healing and to provide healing. Intention means a lot. If the intentions are good and the benefits are experienced nobody is loosing and yes, I am doing modern tantra, being a modern tantrist. I'm here and very real. This is an art, and one of the most fulfilling things I've come across in my life that allows me to express my creativity. I am flowing with this. I love fluidity. May we all embrace our paths and be accepting of where we are.
